The famous “tsunami dog” which was rescued after being stranded a mile off shore for three weeks since the tidal wave flooded Japan’s eastern coast has just been reunited with her owner.
The dog’s owner recognized the two-year-old dog named Ban after she saw a report on TV. They had an emotional reunion at an animal care center where Ban was being looked after.
“We’ll never let go of her,” said the owner who wished to remain anonymous.
Ban immediately jumped up and wagged her tail when her owner showed up to pick her up.
The shelter is still caring for 19 dogs and several cats which were separated from their owners after the tsunami.
